Great Stuff....

...over at the DigiChick today! They launched their Studio 365 today. With items aimed at Project 365 LO's, but (obviously) not limited to those. Gypsy Couture contributed a selection of really nice items to the Studio. You can see her new goodies HERE.
Out of the six items LisaMarie added, I would say my faves are the Cluster Frames (I so often do multi picture LO's that I always appreciate these clusters. These have separate frames, photo masks and shadows : easy to customize and easy to slip goodies in between your pictures! I LOVE them!)

But between these 2 LO's of mine, I used all 6 of Gypsy Couture's new goodies...and they are all going to become staples in my scrap supplies, that I know for sure. Click on the images for details about the other goodies used (everything is by Gypsy Couture and available in her DigiChick store)

Ok I have some more 'Year in Review' pages to make and a house to 'de-Christmas'
Catch you all next year!

A Year in Review

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I only waited till the end of the year to do monthly LO's...trust me to make life difficult for myself LOL. Truth is I wasn't sure that I wanted to do it...I tried a daily picture/ weekly LO for 3 months...but in the end decided this was probably as realistic as I should try to be. ( I LOVED the daily picture idea, but I got so involved I didn't get anything else done. Maybe one day when I'm all caught up, right....? ROFLOL

So I headed on over to Kimberly Stewart's Royal Court blog and Rina Kroes' Reluctant Recluse blog and grabbed the Quick Pages and templates from there (One month the Quick Page is on one blog with the template for the page on the other blog, next month, it is the other way round.) I found them under 'digital freebies' on Rina's blog and on Kimmi's I just went by the months and scrolled till I found what I was looking for. The downloads for March are not working. I'll see if we can get that sorted out.

Here are my pages for January and February 2009. Please click on the images to go to the galleries for full listings of products used.

For January I used the Quick Page on Kimmi's blog (plus a few added bits)

For February I used the template for the February page instead, as I needed something cold and snowy. The February Quick Page is beautiful and I will be using it for sure...

I'll be back with more pages asap. Meantime Gypsy Couture is releasing some great Project 365 stuff tomorrow. I got my LO's ready and waiting...see you then!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays, Happy Winter, Happy Summer.....I hope wherever you are you get the chance to sit back, relax, reflect and recharge!

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

To record a celebration picture, I have a QP freebie for you today. I used Kimberly Stewart's "Snowmen" kit for this.
My page features a Christmas picture, so I added a tree from the kit, but on the QP I left the tree off, so that it becomes a more generic 'gift' page, suitable for Christmas, a birthday, Valentines, Anniversary... you get the idea!

You can download your freebie HERE
Thank you for dropping by my blog throughout the year. Having the blog has been fun and a lot less hassle than what I expected it to be.
So here's to another year of blogging! YAY!
I'm off to go put together the last couple gift-plates-laden-with-cookies and then maybe a glass of eggnog to celebrate!
Have a good one!

Come back tomorrow for the link or find it HERE on Debbie's blog.

Winter Dream

Gypsy Couture's new kit was released yesterday. It is really BIG and has wonderful goodies inside. It was fun and a little frustrating! to choose goodies to use. the frustrating part was deciding what to leave off LOL

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Take a look at Winter Dream. If you click on the image it will take you to the store with more kit previews and some beautiful LO's. There's many more LO's in the DigiChick gallery too.

I selected a couple of pictures of Toad (the dog) for my LO. Snow is not the most wonderful place to be in the winter (Toad prefers the cozy indoors!) but a dog's gotta get out sometime, right?

and again I made my LO into a Quick Page for you all. Thank you Lisa for sharing your work in this way with all of us!

You can download your freebie HERE.
and the blog train that I mentioned...? well it's coming together...watch this space....

Winter Scenery

It is that time of year again when the weather forecasts have 'flurries', 'snow' and icy roads in them...

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Gypsy Couture has a bunch of new goodies out for today : cardstock, papers, overlays and alphas. (alvailable in single packs or combos) You can see them all HERE in her DigiChick Store.

I did this LO using a variety of items. If you click on the piture it'll take you to the gallery with full details and links to the items in the store.

The red berries on the twig made me add a bit of red to the LO...it seemed to need a bit of warmth!

Here is a little peek for you

Country Christmas Moose

This week a friend surprised me with these little moose (well for moose they are little!) The two of us walked through a store together a few weeks ago, and were amused by these...she then picked a couple up for my birthday. They are a fine addition to my winter/Christmas decor!

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I used Gypsy Couture's new 'Country Christmas' Kit for the LO...it is such a FUN kit. Take a look :

Here is a special offer from Lisa for you today. Get the kit and 2 worn alphas for one special price. Unfortunately I cannot get the image to load properly...sorry!

It's beginning to look like Christmas....

It seems like everyday I see new Christmas kits in the stores. I guess next week we'll start seeing Valentine's ones? Not that I'm really complaining...you see I love winter kits and Christmas kits and Valentine's kit and summer-play-in-the-water kits...you get the idea right? But I cannot believe it is already time to get those Christmas cards in the mail! Where did this year fly off to?

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

This new kit by Gypsy Couture Ho Ho Retro, made me smile...love those pinks and the glass ornaments look just like the ones we had when I was little (yes that is a long time ago)This kit is still on sale today btw!

This is baby me in my Mom and Dad's arms. My sisters got dolls, brother got a car...and my parents got more work = me! ( al LOT more work...trust me!)

I think this 'pink' LO will do nicely for my pink loving sister's album!

For next week, Lisa has another wonderful Christmas kit coming...let's see if I get round to making a little freebie for you for then, shall we?

Desktop Wallpaper/Calendar Anyone?

These sure make for neat looking desktops, although I must confess to having a solid black desktop myself....with a funny (Garfield) perched in the middle. The first thing I check online every day is the Garfield funny....puts a smile on my face. And the good ones end up on the desktop untill a funnier one comes along. (btw I get these via a 'Feed' on Yahoo)

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

BUT! since I know many folks like a wallpaper/calendar, I thought I'd give you the heads-up that the new one has been posted on Rina Kroes' Reluctant Recluse blog

Sunday Afternoon Drive

Going for a drive on a Sunday Afternoon was just one of those things that we often did, growing up. I loved it...most of the time. And I started young...that is baby me in my Mom`s arms.

Yeah...I was cute...once upon a time...ROFLOL

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I used a template by Misty Cato, (no longer available) and the kit is Gypsy Couture's new "Expressions" Love those colours!!!

Let it Snow!

uhmmm...well in a little bit, ok? Not quite just yet. Ha!

But since I have lots of pictures from last winter still as yet unscrapped, I thought I would make a start (I'm only about a year late, right?), seeing as Kimberly Stewart just released her Winter Joy Kit this week.

I think Kimmi likes snowmen as much as I do. Take a look at this :

And here is my LO...our 'world' was picture perfect. When I was little we called these 'chocolate box' pictures. Do you remember those boxes of chocolate with pretty pictures on? Lately I've been calling these kinds of pictures 'jigsaw puzzle pictures' . Chop this photograph into 1000 pieces and it'll take a while to make is right! LOL

The alpha I used here is Kimmi's Snowflakes Alpha (no longer available)

Finally I have a freebie QP for you that you can grab HERE...Enjoy!

Brr I think I need a warm drink now, all the talk about winter and snow makes me feel cold!
Catch you later!

Images of Fall...

Wow! This was a busy week! Look at me only now getting the chance to post this! Ugh!

Gypsy Couture released her latest kit 'Touch of Spice' on Thursday. I love the vibrant oranges of this season! Lisa also released her 'Wordy Alpha' very versatile and fun alpha!

I made this LO with these products, just showing some of the fall images around me. We've been having lots of rain so everything is clean and fresh. I hope the sun breaks through at least a little tomorrow, so I can go capture some more of these on film (or should I say 'chip' ?)

and I turned it into a QP for you, which you can download HERE

On Sunday Rina Kroes and Kimmi Stewart are releasing a new Autumn Collab....don't miss it!!

Thanks for dropping by!

I've always had a thing for cats....too bad I'm allergic to them. Every once in a while I have a good cuddle just to satisfy the urge...LOL. How I would love a snooze like this....

The LO features -mostly- Kimberly Stewart's kit (above image is linked)

Persimmons Any One?

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Did that get your attention? Ha! It sure got mine when I saw the name of Gypsy Couture's new kit for today!

I think it is beautiful, and my LO does not do it justice, but follow that store link and you'll find some gorgeous LO! (remember the kit is on sale today (Thursday) only!

I wanted to leave enough room here for journalling. I was not yet born when this picture was taken, so I need to get a lot more information before I can finish it off with the story!

Lisa also has these yummy papers new in her store today

I used these for my bg in this LO (the green paper is from the Persimmon Pucker PaperPack) and I used Lisa's Page Genies 4 to get those great curves in the bg. The clustered frame, btw, is included in the Persimmon Pucker page Set (2 clustered frames and 2 element clusters)
The picture is very poor quality, so I had to keep it small...

and last but not least...drop by Lisa's Gypsy Couture blog for this beautiful element cluster freebie!

Have fun!....later gators.

Fun Family Portraits

I like these ones so much more than your stiffly posed ones...maybe that is what we should try with our family picture this year...hmmm especially seeing as the ones we took a couple days ago where ghastly, to put it mildly...ugh.

These pics on the LO were taken back in the last 60's...or maybe as 'late' as 1970. They are so neat. Actually I discovered a few such great shots among the negatives I've been sent. No doubt you'll be seeing them sometime too.

Gypsy Couture's new 'Subtle Shift' Page Set was what I used. It looks suitable old/faded and worn, while still having fresh greenery and super metal and wooden bits. take a look :

The alpha is really FUN!

Now if all goes according to plan, I shall have this LO as a QP freebie for you later today...but don't hold your breath...I'm not gonna hold mine!

....and here we are...I may even have been OK if I held my breath!!! hehehe

Working on the blog...

I'm just changing the blog wear! Please bear with me while I redecorate!

Saturday, September 19, 2009

I'm working, really I am....

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I'm busy getting gift albums ready, and that always takes more time than one thinks!! I was delighted to get my first Shutterfly book in the mail this week. I am now persuaded that that is the finest way to scrap and print those heritage pictures of mine.

It is getting to be that time of the year again...Autumn, it is so beautiful as the leaves are starting to turn, especially on the maples. I did this LO last night with pictures taken in 2004. Yes I'm that far (and further) behind. I tend to scrap all over the place on the timeline. Whatever takes my fancy. Random is the word I think...

The kit I used is by Saxon Holt called "Swirling Leaves" click the LO for links and credits.

I'm off to grab lunch and make progress on my albums!

She was shy....

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

but this is such a special picture! A moment in time - captured! And this 'girl' is now in her 80's, making this picture all the more special!

I had such a busy day yesterday that I had not time to show you this new kit that I used for my LO : Gypsy Couture's "Contradiction" Super super kit! Take a look :

That alpha is so much fun!

Ouma and I

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I have the most wonderful memories of my Ouma (Grandma). She lived with us, for as long as I could remember and I love her dearly. Of course she has long since passed away, but in my memory she will live forever. If my mother taught me about the beauty of flowers in our garden, then Ouma taught me about the beauty of wild flowers. She loved them all, weeds were just pretty flowers to her and she would always find interesting and beautiful things to draw to my attention to....like she is doing here in these pictures, even if I don't seem quite as interested. We were on holiday when these were taken and I probably wanted the beach....or nothing else LOL.

The beauty and fun of digital scrapping is that I can use the same pictures repeatedly and scrap them suited to the people the album/LO/book is destined for. This purple one, is heading for my album.

I used Kimberly Stewart's "Beautiful Memories" for it (and a template by Kim Wresh, n/a)

The this next one is for the Shutterfly book for my parents.

Rina Kroes' "Some Enchanted Morning Stacked Papers" and "Clustered Frames" made this one super quick to do. The wordart was a freebie, also by Rina, and will be available in her store shortly. You can see the available Wordart HERE.

I think, in honour of Ouma, I shall scrap these pictures once more, for her, using wildflowers.
Here's to you Ouma! and thank you so much.......if I had the wings of a sparrow, away to my home I would fly.....

Flying...?!?

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Sweet Dreams

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Finally! I managed to get that freebie together for you.

Although Lullabye is an older kit, I find it very easy to use, and the colours just work together so beautifully! I left lots of room for you to add more pictures, add lots of journalling...or just leave 'white' Of course if you pick the kit up, you can always add some of the fine goodies in there. I left the QP uncluttered for that purpose!

Time is running out fast for you to snag these retiring products!

Here is another look at the kit : Lullabye by Rina Kroes

and your freebie...grab it HERE

Thanks for dropping by! Have a great weekend everybody!
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I've always had enormous sympathy with the Alice in Wonderland White Rabbit!

This week I am really late showing you Gypsy Couture's new products for this week :

These cool Research Papers

This fun and practical Fresh Bead Alpha (I seem to be attracted to bead alphas for some reason) -Oh and if the one on my LO looks different from the one on the preview, it is because the download contains two versions! Yay!-

and this Barefoot Alpha....

...and here is my LO

I also used Gypsy Couture's Page Genies 3 and the Page Set Tickle My Fancy. I used a template by Kim Wresh and the chipboard style on the frames is by Cheryl Barber.

Scrapping Heritage?

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

If you are like me : always scrapping 'old' and 'older' pictures, you would also be looking out for suitable kits. So here's a heads-up for you : Right now, Rina Kroes has several items (28 to be exact) on Close-Out in her Scrapbook-Elements store.

Go ahead and take a look at what she is retiring, including kits, frames and Quick Page Albums.

Unearthed Treasures is one set (with a couple albums) that will be gone for good. (all images are linked!)

I did this LO with one of the Album pages

And finally a freebie for you : a couple Bragbook Pages made for you, using Unearthed Treasures

Download HERE

I hope to be back soon with more previews and another freebie. Meantime you can check out Rina's specials here.

Painting Props

A treat I can indulge regularly...aren't I lucky? This was for a production of 'Beauty and the Beast' by a local Dance School. The production was fab. I did include a tiny picture bottom right of the 2 panels (book shelves for Beast's library) on stage.

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I'm way behind in scrapping my 'prop painting' pictures, but when I saw this new kit by Gypsy Couture "Artist's Loft" it kinda kicked me into gear. Let's hope I can keep it up! (before the next round of painting starts LOL)

Isn't it a neat set? Look at the yummy colours against the neutrals and the texture on some of the bg papers is just too wonderful!

I used a grunge edge overlay on the background from this set by Gypsy Chick

Got more scrapping to do, catch you later!

'Screaming' for Icecream!

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I remember it took me a little thinking, as a kid, to figure out the little rhyme 'I scream, You scream we all scream for Ice cream'....not being English speaking, well, let's just say the penny needed time to drop.
I always had a very good grip on the ice cream cone though, make NO mistake! LOL

Using Rina's Some Enchanted Evening Extras (the Cluster Frames and the Stacked Papers) I made this LO of a treat shared....Yum! Please click on the image or HERE for a full credit list and links to products!

Now I have some baking to attend to...catch you later gators!

My only gripe was that we only had a few days....but then again, maybe we'll get to visit again next summer? One can always hope and dream, right?
I used Rina's gorgeous new products :

this is a great opportunity to pick up some of Rina Kroes' older kits. They may be older but they are not 'old' kwim? Rina is pulling them off the shelf to make room for all her super new goodies...but they will disappear any day now, they have been on Close Out for a few weeks. For -on average- $2.50 you can get a full kit, or a 12x12 album or a 4x6 album. There is even one 5x7 album, and a couple element packs. Most kits are also available as papers & elements separately. Head on over HERE and see the deals for yourself!

I'll show you a few kits and some LO's all images are linked. (go to the galleries for full credits for the LO's)

I'm sad to see these ones go...but I do look forward to Rina's new releases...

Finally, the July month-in-review QP and template are posted

You can find the QP on Kimmi's blog and the template on Rina's blog...while you are there....look at earlier posts to collect the QP's and templates all the way back to January!

Giving Teddy a Bath....

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Think about it.....I'm very glad I never did actually stick my teddy in the bath, but the only reason for that is probably that I was already 7 by the time I got my first teddy. And these were the teddies stuffed with a strawlike substance, certainly not suited for the tub.

I scrapped this page of 'Snoetjies' a couple years ago (click image to go to the gallery for full credits)

But what got me onto the theme of bathing teddy, is this kit by Kimberly Stewart "Teddy in the Tub" isn't it cute?

I scrapped this page with this delightful kit....and where oh where did I put the rest of my bathtime pictures....hmmmmmm?!?

Go head and scrap teddy/kiddo in the tub!!!

Meadow Breeze...what a good idea!

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

When summer comes to our part of the world...it comes! And I love the wonderful breeze that keeps us cool when the days are loooong and hot!

Rina Kroes' "Meadow Breeze" Page Set captures the feeling of that cool breeze beautifully and it also was perfect for scrapping our yearly treat of wild daisies. they look really pretty, but they are very hard on allergy prone folks so we do have to cull them every other year, just to keep the numbers in check. And every year I take pictures...I just cannot resist it! LOL

Meadow Breeze is still on sale today

and the daisies : ready to join the line-up waiting to become part of my 'nature' album!

I used a template from Kim Hollibone's In Your Own Words Set, the butterflies are by Saxon Holt : Butterflies 1 and Butterflies 2. The bead alpha is by Ziggle.
Go ahead and scrap those breezy summer days!

On a Sunny Day...

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I did it again! A whole week just flew past and I never even posted...it really must be summer!

Gypsy Couture released her new kit today : Party On The Patio. Isn't it FUN?!?
I used it, together with a template from Page Genies #4 for my LO.

Never take a picture full in the sun....unless you want to chuckle over it for years to come...this one always makes me smile...

The cool dotted border is by Annick Philibert.
I have a little freebie for you today, that you can download HERE.

Have a great day...hope to see you before next Thursday LOL!

Where did the week go?

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Look at this! It's been a whole week since I posted...now how did that happen?
Summer schedule I suppose...LOL
Gypsy Couture has a new kit in her store this week : Peace and Quiet

I used it to scrap some old camping pictures. I can still smell the canvas of the tent...and feel the sand between my toes and between the sheets...ack! teeheee

I also used one of Lisa's Page Genies for this LO I did yesterday

I used items taken from Kiki Halbert's Symphony Page Set, the green paper is from Saxon Holt's Rainforest Paper Pack and the alpha is Kimberly Stewart's Grape (from the Tooty Fruity Collection Set 3). The Tucked Photo Template is by Thao Cosgrove and the bg is 'build' with a Page Genie by Gypsy Couture.
I busy getting my pictures organized to hopefully get some scrapping organized. my idea is to do something along the lines of what I used to do when paper scrapping : collect all the goodies for a pages/set of pages in one folder and when scrapping tie comes, you pull out and scrap it quickly and efficiently...well it's worth a try!! we'll soon see if it's workable or not!

Gentle Morning

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I had forgotten just how a tired kitten can sleep. You know what I mean? You can talk and prod and pick up....and all they do is sleep. I really wanted to take some pictures of this little guy, but he was not going to oblige me with anything more than a sleeping pose.

Just Adorable....nothing more, nothing less.

Gypsy Couture's "Gentle Morning" Page Set is what I used. New in the store today and as always on sale on the day of release! Isn't is beautiful?
For more LO's with this kit, take a look at Gypsy Couture's Gallery at The DigiChick. The CT has some fabulous LO's posted there.

Happy Canada Day!

Have a happy day! Best wishes for a fun day to my fellow Canadians!!!

Life has been busy around here. Summer holidays means a change in schedule, but by no means does it get quieter around here. I have more LO's to show you and I hope to do that soon, but for today I'm going to leave you with just this little freebie mini kit. Only 5 papers and a few elements. (I relied completely on commercial use items for the elements (only realized yesterday that I need this done for today...so if you are not 'allergic' to CU stuff, enjoy! and if you are...well...you've been warned....LOL)

Download your freebie HERE.
Happy scrapping till the next time!

Blissful Morning

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Clean and fresh....that is the way I would describe Gypsy Couture's new Page set "Blissful Morning"

and I love the way my LO turned out. There is something about the red against the green and off-white linen that just appeals so much to me!!

and if you head on over to Lisa's blog, you will still find her freebie Page Genie there...

Remember Lisa's kits are always on sale on the Thursday of their release and every Tuesday she has at least one special offer. So be sure to check her store at the DigiChick on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
It's been a busy week and I' behind! Hope to be back with a little treat for you, shortly!

Always And Forever

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

Have you ever noticed how eloquently Rina Kroes names her kits? I always look forward to seeing the new names, and read her store descriptions! or maybe I'm just a little strange that way? LOL

Rina is retiring a BUNCH of products from her Scrapbook-Elements store. these goodies will be available until July 20th and then they wll be gone forever. The close-out prices are perfect too.

Here is Always and Forever and can be yours for only $2.50:

I made this LO with it... still enjoying all the old negatives, and I haven't even scanned them all yet! whoohoo!

I used one of Fafbr's actions to make the lace and ribbon wrap, the Alpha is from Rina's Au Naturelle Collection (also on Close-Out) and the jewel is by Tracey Monette. The frame is also not in the Page Set. I combined a CU frame, Atomic Cupcake Action, some overlays etc to make it up.

Finally : I have a a little freebie for you in the form of a border, corner cluster and journal tag.

You can download it HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!!
