Great-Grandma's Sewing

What a treat it was to hold and photograph these handmade aprons. Great-Grandma Scheepers made them early in the 1900's sometime, with beautiful neat and tiny stitches.
That corner chair was what she would sit on to work. It has a handy storage area underneath the chair. Very clever - and very comfortable to sit on.

I used Cathy Krenek's  Handmade With Love kit and separate Accents collection for my page. The kit has a lovely old fashioned feel to it which I just love!

Starting Our Homeschooling Journey

It seems like light years ago now. And I guess in a way it is a long time ago. 19 years ago we started our homeschooling (or home learning if you prefer) journey.

It was "interesting" Ha!

I used Cathy Krenek's new "It's All in The Numbers" Bundle for this page -

Of course I always change the LO for my pages to accommodate the different format that I have our photobooks printed in. I keep both formats because one never knows when the available formats for these books might change. It seems to happen often enough. So here is the 9x12" version of this page.

Have a great week!

Space Museum - Kona

Here's a bit of 'history'. Family history anyway!

The little school at Makapala on a field trip to the Space Museum in Kona, Hawai'i. This was late 1993 or maybe even early in 1994.

Oh my, does that ever bring back memories...

I used Cathy Krenek's new "Reach For The Stars" kit for my page. (the different parts of the bundle are available in separate pieces too. Find them in Cathy's store HERE)

White Christmas?

Nope, not this year!

Actually it's been many years since we did have one. Last year we had hardly any snow. Several years ago I found this action online that framed your picture and put it in a snow globe. I neer used it for a LO until now...

I used Cathy Krenek's "Merry & Bright" Kit and matching "Glittered Papers" for my LO

Pygmy Owl and Autumn Spice...

Recently a Pygmy Owl flew into one of the windows on the house. We got such a fright and were horrified to see the little one lying there, quite lifeless. Hubby picked it up and brought it indoors, hoping that the warmth of his hands and the house will help the little treasure revive.

He was right! Soon the little eyes started to flicker, and we moved outside quickly in case it should fly off. As it is it only sat for a short while before leaving, but long enough for me to take some pictures and for us to marvel at the beauty of God's creation.

Those eyes were like crystal clear glass. Totally mesmerizing! What an amazing experience.

To scrapbook these pictures I used Cathy Krenek's new 'Autumn Spice Kit'. At the writing this is available at Gingerscraps, but will be available at Cathy's GottaPixel store later in the year.

I also used one of the alphas for the page title.

And finally I have a freebie for you! An overlay featuring this 'delicious' new kit. Enjoy!

All that decorating means I have not yet caught up on all my November pages. But the next 2 quieter weeks may help me out.

Yearbook- October!

I finally wrapped up the October page. I will have a couple more pages for October, but I'm waiting for pictures from a friend, before I start on them so I'll be moving on to doing November next. I have a ton of November pics....it will be hard to select jut a few!

Our internet has been patchy and our tech is away right now, so I've not been able to do much online. It also seems like 4Shared is blocked...big nuisance, but I'll chat with him and see what solutions we may be able to find to that little hassle. There must be a way I can get a freebie to you :D

So here is October 2011

I also thought an ABC album featuring people and places with specific significance to our family would be fun to do. Here is my page for 'A' Featuring two of my favourite pictures of my sister. Click the image or HERE to go to the gallery and direct products links, including the set of templates that I got this one from.

Has any of you done an ABC album? I love alphabets and alphabetical stuff so I thought this would be neat. If you've done an album like this, post a link will you? I'd love to see what you've done!

Yearbook 2008 - Fall Images

I think when I look back at a stack of my photo books I shall see the same images over and over again. The truth is that I get captivated by the same beauty every year. Look at these colours - the golden leaves, the green mosses, the shapes and colours on the fungi and lichens. What a wonderful world of variety and beauty! This page is for the 2008 Yearbook. It is coming along slower than I like, but it is moving nevertheless. And every page done is...well, a page done! :-) Click the image for credits.

The weather is changing here and already the maples are turning golden. I shall have to try my best not to repeat myself with the pictures I take this autumn.

I did say 'try'.....

Vintage LO's - so special

I would not say they are my absolute favourite LO's to do - I enjoy variety - but they really are special. Of course I'm very fortunate to have a wonderful collection of old pictures to work from. Anyone who has been following along this blog will know that by now!

I recently made these two LO's with a new Page Set (and Add Ons) by Rina Kroes. I'm really pleased with how they have turned out and I know already that I will be making more pages with this collection for sure. It suits my pictures and my idea of vintage feminine perfectly!

Here is a look at the Page Set but take a look HERE at the rest of the Collection you can also hop on over to Rina's blog for previews, more LO's and a QP freebie

I turned my LO (second one featured here) into a gift for you.

Oh and Rina is the Designer of The Month at Scrapbook-Elements for this month (starting this Wednesday 14th. (actually this will be from the 21st, so you still have time to sign up for the newsletter!)) ) Here is a look at her free gift. Sign up now for the SBE newsletter if you'd like this beauty. Yearbook August 2011

Looks like I'm going to have another 4 or 5 pages for August. You know I was thinking I'm almost doing a weekly page anyway...maybe I'll go back to the 365 project for next year LOL.

I have one done so far August Page 1 I'm not sure I like the light bg though, I think I'm going to recolour that one before it gets to the printing stage.

and then Scrapbook-Elements is have a Guest CT Call....

Have a good weekend folks. I hope the weather lasts for the entire long weekend. If not, it is bound to be a beautiful day on the first day of school....isn't that how it is supposed to work ;-)

July...done at last

My house has never been this neat and clean and tidy for so many days in a row. Of course don't even think to ask me where some stuff may be. I have only a general idea! I hope to make some progress in that department this week, but in the meantime I finished off the 5 pages I have for July. I'm only posting 2, the others are full of faces I would have to blur and that spoils all the fun of showing them to you :-(

But here is July

and the Flowers of July. Such a colourful time of the year.

For the first page a used a fun kit of Kimberly Stewart's, 'Spotted Cows'

and the Flora one features an older kit ' Lemonberry Zinger' by Rina Kroes

oh and by the way Scrapbook-Elements have a 40% off sale, running till the 31st, don't miss this one!

I'll be back with a little giftie for you shortly...have a great week!

I figured they probably need a page for themselves these guys....Rina Kroes has a new collection out. 'Bring Me Sunshine' (her wish has come true, we've had more sun in the Pacific Northwest since...)

See the rest of the Bring Me Sunshine Collection HERE. If you are signed up for the Scrapbook-Elements newsletter, you'll be getting a couple of BB QP's that I made as gifts, later this month.

I have just been very busy with all kinds of stuff, meantime I have a few LO's from recent weeks to show you. Rina Kroes also has an awesome kit out. Fantastical Future (see the entire Collection HERE) And the previews of Rina's New Revelry kit coming this Sunday are gorgeous!! I hope to have some gifts featuring these two kit for you in the very near future. Meantime you can pick up a freebie QP at Rina's blog - The Reluctant Recluse.

Julie Jorgenson has beautiful vintage kits...the sort of kit I have good use for. This one is An Old Time Story

And then I realized that I never did post my March page...and I need to do the April page!
