I sure am....it isn't always that I get to play with templates like this. You know most of the time I make LO's with a place in an album to tell a story. Once in a while I love to make one, just because it's pretty. This was such an occasion...and I really like how it turned out. I'm enjoying using Jenn's templates. This one is from Blueprints #1 and everything else is from Studio Gypsy. Quite a list so go to the gallery HERE for links to the goodies. I seldom us only plain paper/ cardstock on a LO...and the verdict is still out on this one. I do think some damask print peeking out would be lovely. I'll sleep on it and see how it goes.
Also : I only scanned the picture and used as is, not adjustments, no fixes (see the tiny crease top right? That is a real one. I love this colour on it too, beautiful sepia.
ok I have a house to clean and more goodies to play with....catch you later!

I'm in a mood for Christmas
Early I know, but it happens every year. I think it is because by now I have a nice pile of gifts, really to bundle off to far away Christmas trees and a nice stash of gifts waiting to be wrapped hidden in a closet....the days are cooler and the wood fire i so cozy on a cold night. I'm compiling a list of Christmas themed movies in my collection (I do stretch it a bit to include anything snowy ;-) ) and am looking at gifts-in-a-jar ideas.
Yup I'm gearing up...only problem is that I often am 'over' Christmas, by the time it rolls around :D Welcome to my wacky world.
But I digress! What I really wanted to show you was these two LO's I made this week. Studio True Blue (aka Jenn) opened it's doors today at ScrapbookGraphics and I got to play with some of her super duper templates, and naturally seeing as Christmas is all around me already...I made 2 Christmas LO's Soon I shall have 'finished' scrapping these pictures for my family....but I have at least one more 'set' to go...click on the LO title to go to the gallery for links to the products!
Goudini Christmas 1959 (Goudini is a place in South Africa...and I was not yet a light in my parent's eyes at this point .....) The kit is HoHoRetro by Studio Gypsy
and a year later...here I am the little one for my 1st Christmas I too was cute once ;-) The kit is Country Christmas by Studio Gypsy. And if you really read all this talking you may be interested to know I have a freebie on the blog featuring this kit HERE The kit preview is gone, because Lisa moved stores and I have not taken the time to reload all the previews...untidy house keeping, I know...
So go out and grab something special and scrap up a storm this weekend!

A Year in Review
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
I only waited till the end of the year to do monthly LO's...trust me to make life difficult for myself LOL. Truth is I wasn't sure that I wanted to do it...I tried a daily picture/ weekly LO for 3 months...but in the end decided this was probably as realistic as I should try to be. ( I LOVED the daily picture idea, but I got so involved I didn't get anything else done. Maybe one day when I'm all caught up, right....? ROFLOL

So I headed on over to Kimberly Stewart's Royal Court blog and Rina Kroes' Reluctant Recluse blog and grabbed the Quick Pages and templates from there (One month the Quick Page is on one blog with the template for the page on the other blog, next month, it is the other way round.) I found them under 'digital freebies' on Rina's blog and on Kimmi's I just went by the months and scrolled till I found what I was looking for. The downloads for March are not working. I'll see if we can get that sorted out.
Here are my pages for January and February 2009. Please click on the images to go to the galleries for full listings of products used.
For January I used the Quick Page on Kimmi's blog (plus a few added bits)
For February I used the template for the February page instead, as I needed something cold and snowy. The February Quick Page is beautiful and I will be using it for sure...
I'll be back with more pages asap. Meantime Gypsy Couture is releasing some great Project 365 stuff tomorrow. I got my LO's ready and waiting...see you then!

Here Kitty Kitty....
I've always had a thing for cats....too bad I'm allergic to them. Every once in a while I have a good cuddle just to satisfy the urge...LOL. How I would love a snooze like this....
The LO features -mostly- Kimberly Stewart's kit (above image is linked)

Ouma and I
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
I have the most wonderful memories of my Ouma (Grandma). She lived with us, for as long as I could remember and I love her dearly. Of course she has long since passed away, but in my memory she will live forever. If my mother taught me about the beauty of flowers in our garden, then Ouma taught me about the beauty of wild flowers. She loved them all, weeds were just pretty flowers to her and she would always find interesting and beautiful things to draw to my attention to....like she is doing here in these pictures, even if I don't seem quite as interested. We were on holiday when these were taken and I probably wanted the beach....or nothing else LOL.

The beauty and fun of digital scrapping is that I can use the same pictures repeatedly and scrap them suited to the people the album/LO/book is destined for. This purple one, is heading for my album.
I used Kimberly Stewart's "Beautiful Memories" for it (and a template by Kim Wresh, n/a)
The this next one is for the Shutterfly book for my parents.
Rina Kroes' "Some Enchanted Morning Stacked Papers" and "Clustered Frames" made this one super quick to do. The wordart was a freebie, also by Rina, and will be available in her store shortly. You can see the available Wordart HERE.
I think, in honour of Ouma, I shall scrap these pictures once more, for her, using wildflowers.
Here's to you Ouma! and thank you so much.......if I had the wings of a sparrow, away to my home I would fly.....

Don't Miss This....
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
this is a great opportunity to pick up some of Rina Kroes' older kits. They may be older but they are not 'old' kwim? Rina is pulling them off the shelf to make room for all her super new goodies...but they will disappear any day now, they have been on Close Out for a few weeks. For -on average- $2.50 you can get a full kit, or a 12x12 album or a 4x6 album. There is even one 5x7 album, and a couple element packs. Most kits are also available as papers & elements separately. Head on over HERE and see the deals for yourself!
I'm sad to see these ones go...but I do look forward to Rina's new releases...
Finally, the July month-in-review QP and template are posted
You can find the QP on Kimmi's blog and the template on Rina's blog...while you are there....look at earlier posts to collect the QP's and templates all the way back to January!

Meadow Breeze...what a good idea!
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
When summer comes to our part of the world...it comes! And I love the wonderful breeze that keeps us cool when the days are loooong and hot!
When summer comes to our part of the world...it comes! And I love the wonderful breeze that keeps us cool when the days are loooong and hot!
Rina Kroes' "Meadow Breeze" Page Set captures the feeling of that cool breeze beautifully and it also was perfect for scrapping our yearly treat of wild daisies. they look really pretty, but they are very hard on allergy prone folks so we do have to cull them every other year, just to keep the numbers in check. And every year I take pictures...I just cannot resist it! LOL
Meadow Breeze is still on sale today
and the daisies : ready to join the line-up waiting to become part of my 'nature' album!
I used a template from Kim Hollibone's In Your Own Words Set, the butterflies are by Saxon Holt : Butterflies 1 and Butterflies 2. The bead alpha is by Ziggle.
Go ahead and scrap those breezy summer days!

Where did the week go?
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
Look at this! It's been a whole week since I posted...now how did that happen?

I also used one of Lisa's Page Genies for this LO I did yesterday
I used items taken from Kiki Halbert's Symphony Page Set, the green paper is from Saxon Holt's Rainforest Paper Pack and the alpha is Kimberly Stewart's Grape (from the Tooty Fruity Collection Set 3). The Tucked Photo Template is by Thao Cosgrove and the bg is 'build' with a Page Genie by Gypsy Couture.
I busy getting my pictures organized to hopefully get some scrapping organized. my idea is to do something along the lines of what I used to do when paper scrapping : collect all the goodies for a pages/set of pages in one folder and when scrapping tie comes, you pull out and scrap it quickly and efficiently...well it's worth a try!! we'll soon see if it's workable or not!

Summer schedule I suppose...LOL
Gypsy Couture has a new kit in her store this week : Peace and Quiet
I used it to scrap some old camping pictures. I can still smell the canvas of the tent...and feel the sand between my toes and between the sheets...ack! teeheee

I actually did some scrapbooking!
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
Wow! Funny how sometimes life gets busy in other ways isn't it? For someone like me who likes to do lots of different thing, I suppose that should not be a surprise...I could never do everything I would like to in every 24 hour period!
It was done for the Hooked -on-Templates challenge over at Scrapbook-Elements. it is a bi-weekly challenge and I try to do these as often as possible. 9The current one runs until the 11th) I enjoy using templates, although I probably could use them a whole lot more. Still being familiar with Rina's templates, I knew it would be a good one...

But it was nice to actually sit a scrap a page in the middle of the morning...
* Sorry, this image is no longer available*
.....and besides that posting gift was definitely worth scrapping for!
* Sorry, this image is no longer available*
The page set I used is Kimberly Stewart's Angel Bears Pink (Angel Bears is also available in blue and red as well as a combo pack with all 3 inside)
I chose the pink one, as my sister (the baby in the pictures) really loves pink.

Feeder Bullies : Stellar's Jay
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
There is just no denying it : The Stellar's Jay is a beautiful bird; the Stellar's Jay is a bully!
The template (which I turned, moved and in general rearranged) for my LO I got from Denise's The Rich Scrapper blog...you can find this great freebie HERE
And finally for today, I have a little freebie Quick Page gift for you. Made with Gyspy Couture's Kiss of Spring Kit. I hope you find it useful. If you do use it, leave me a link in the comments and I'll drop by at your gallery!
There is just no denying it : The Stellar's Jay is a beautiful bird; the Stellar's Jay is a bully!
Arriving at the feeder with a raucous screeching announcement, they promptly chase away every other bird and proceed stuffing their cheeks with seeds. And they are not choosey either. Any seeds will do. Bad mannered too huh?
But oh so pretty, when the sun catches those blue feathers, the bird looks like a gem, a costly Lapis Lazuli stone. And as a besides-the-point : The Stellar's Jay is the provincial bird of British Columbia. Not a bad distinction for a 'bully' is it?
Kidding aside, some days we do feel like chasing them a milion miles away, yet the other day when a hawk cornered one on the deck, hubby lost no time in coming to it's rescue...isn't it a quirk in the English language that a heart can be both big and small, at the same time, and mean very much the same thing in the end? Gotta love English....
I made another LO for our "Critters At Our House" album : this time featuring our favourite bullies! LOL for my LO I chose Gypsy Couture's Carefree Days Kit
Gypsy Couture is having a sale this weekend at her Digichick store:

Freebie no longer available...
Thanks for dropping by!

Springtime Memories...
Well it sure looks like it on these pictures. that is my sister...and no her name isn't really Jane, but then again, there was a point in time when my Mom called each one of us 'Lady Jane'
Now I just received more negative yesterday, so I have scanning and house cleaning to do.

I just love these pictures of her, I tell you these negatives I'm receiving, of these old family pictures, are a treasure beyond words. Many I've never seen.
Oh the album ideas I have in my head!
I used a new Collab Kit (Through My Window)over at Plain Digital Wrapper for my page and the template is by my friend Denise Rich. You can find it on her blog The Rich Scrapper.

Enduring Love
Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing
Oh another favourite page set by Rina Kroes. I KNOW! I have tons of favourites among Rina's kits, but would I CT for Rina and Kimmi if I didn't LOVE their design work? Kinda obvious, right? LOL
Here is another LO where I used these templates as well as some of the wordart that comes with it. (The kit is Passionate Elegance, also by Rina, but no longer available) click the picture for full credits.

Still I have bigger and less big favourites, and Enduring Love is one of those BIG favourites.
I could not say it any more eloquent than Rina does in her product description : " This collection is dedicated to devoted parents and grandparents whose love endures throughout the decades. Take a step backward in time to the not too distant past with these warm earthy colors of gold, green and rust and sprinkle a bit of nostalgia into your creations. Loaded with texture and detail, Rina's "Enduring Love" has gently worn embellishments that will be perfect for anniversary layouts or to celebrate the love of an older generation."
Here is a bragbook page I made using Enduring Love. We were camping, I'm the little one in the front, with the bib (we were having lunch!) and so it must have been in the early 60's. I think the location is the Pienaars River Dam in South Africa, but I'm going to have to verify that with my mom, before adding the info to my page.
I also used a template by Rina. This one is part of her Vacation Bragbook Templates, currently on Close-Out and a STEAL at $1.99 RUN don't walk and grab this one!
and finally another page, this time I used a freebie QP made by Kabra, that is still available on Rina's blog! Zip on over to The Reluctant Recluse and grab yours today! HERE (or click on the LO below)
Thank you Rina and Kabra!
I took my snowy, spring picture of buried crocus earlier today...hope to show you soon!
Later gators!
