Exploring The Neighbourhood

Yes, I do still scrapbook...only right now I'm working with pictures of people who would rather not feature on this blog, therefore I don't often have the opportunity to post the LO pages here.
This was an exception, as I could show the surroundings, while leaving the people to feature on the companion page.

I used Cathy Krenek's 'Nature Walk Bundle' for my page

Nature Walk Bundle

The kit alone as well as separate add-on packs are available in Cathy's Store

Take a look at Cathy's blog for news and freebies... including some borders I submitted for the purpose! Enjoy!

Remember When

My favourite kind of scrapbooking is working with old photographs. Sure I do enjoy keeping those photo books up-to-date with what's been happening in our lives, but oh...those oldies...

For this wedding picture page I used a new kit by Cathy Krenek (Cathy K Designs) called Reminiscing. I mean just look at it...how gorgeous is this?!?

Oh and heads-up...there will be freebies for this one. Cathy will post them on the blog or share them through her newsletter. Find them and sign up HERE. They may not be posted when you read this, but check back later, they will be!

Hanging Out With Friends

We spend a lovely few hours with friends just hanging out at the lake. It was cool, but not cold, and oh so beautiful!
I must add that I have never seen the levels on that lake as low as this...

I used Cathy Krenek's Country Roads Bundle for my page. Cathy has just the kit and it's components separately, available in the store. No need to buy the whole bundle.

Tiny Treasures

Tiny Treasures are all around us and never more visible than in the summer!
I love to take the camera and see what I can find among the flowers and plants!

I used Cathy Krenek's Woodland Spring Kit for my page. Aren't those critters just adorable? This kit would be perfect for making sweet cards as well!

It's been a long time since I've offered a scrapbooking freebie here on the blog. Funny how easy it can be to break a (good) habit, right?

Enjoy!

Sister Friends

Sisters can be such fun friends! I'm thankful for my Sister-Friends!

Finally - I made my LO into a Quick Page for you. It as been a while since I offered a Quick Page. Let me know if you prefer QP's or overlays so I know for future freebies ;-)

Colouring Pages - Violets

And for February we have violets! I used 'African Violets' for my inspiration. These little plants are so easy to grow and are so very pretty! They have been a favourite of mine for many years.

I have not yet painted my copy of these, but I did make a start with digital colouring. I think it will be very pretty when done!

The download includes 2 different pages. One is just flowers while the other has leaves as well.

Enjoy and feedback is welcome and appreciated!

And just as a matter of interest - this is what I did with one of the carnation colouring pages for January - still available HERE. I'm planning on using some of the other page's images in an art journal...

I {Heart} You

Cute title that, for a digital scrapbooking kit, don't you think?

Cathy Krenek's "I {Heart} You

There is also a Bundle available, that has a set of cute flairs, alphas and extra papers -

I used this to make my LO for our last anniversary. We've taken a picture every year and I'm almost caught up on the pages to have them printed as a photo book. Hmmmm I'll have to decide on a good cut-off point for the first book. Maybe I'll make it at 30...

I made a cluster overlay freebie for you to use for a page celebrating a love in your life! Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Well well well!

Here we are in a New Year. And I'm sort of slooow out of the blocks, right?

Well that's because I've been busy! What with drawing most days (see posts HERE) and getting set up with a new painting/drawing inbetween, life has been busy. Add visiting with friends, doing the usual crafts, and oh yes! The Christmas holidays and suddenly it doesn't seem like it has been so long since I posted after all. I was given a new jigsaw puzzle for Christmas and have not even opened it yet. Now THAT is remarkable.

I do have a brand new feature for you for this year though - Colouring pages. I've always enjoyed colouring and still have a book from 1971. It's really cute to look at all the little colouring efforts by myself, sisters and friends! I recently won a 'lucky draw' style contest via the Colored Pencil Magazine for a couple colouring books from Dover Publishing . I was tickled pink to win and chose this one - Entangled and Art Nouveau Animals. I've not had a chance to colour in them, but I do look forward to making a start!

I was busy colouring these carnations instead :
I printed it onto regular copy paper with a toner printer and coloured using watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. I'm wanting to add lots more detail in with coloured pencils, but am resisting the urge or I will never get round to finishing this post!

Here is another carnation design that I started to colour digitally. It is almost as much fun as using real media...

There is just so much one can do with a design like this. My head always explodes with the possibilities. Drives me crazy. That is why I have to draw the 'enough' line and move on...

You can download both design HERE in one zip file. Please note that the images are jpeg files. They should work for most people. If you have trouble printing these, do let me know.

Pygmy Owl and Autumn Spice...

Recently a Pygmy Owl flew into one of the windows on the house. We got such a fright and were horrified to see the little one lying there, quite lifeless. Hubby picked it up and brought it indoors, hoping that the warmth of his hands and the house will help the little treasure revive.

He was right! Soon the little eyes started to flicker, and we moved outside quickly in case it should fly off. As it is it only sat for a short while before leaving, but long enough for me to take some pictures and for us to marvel at the beauty of God's creation.

Those eyes were like crystal clear glass. Totally mesmerizing! What an amazing experience.

To scrapbook these pictures I used Cathy Krenek's new 'Autumn Spice Kit'. At the writing this is available at Gingerscraps, but will be available at Cathy's GottaPixel store later in the year.

I also used one of the alphas for the page title.

And finally I have a freebie for you! An overlay featuring this 'delicious' new kit. Enjoy!
