Yearbook - June 2011

So far I'm able to keep to a 2-pages-per-month average. I feel I'm able to keep up just fine that way and that everything that needs to be documented, is. It will probably take me a few more months though, to get 'free' of the desire to do a picture-a-day album. ;-) Click on the picture/link for full credits to products used!

So here is June Page 1  I find nature shots irresistable...

and June Page 2

Right now I'm working hard on catching up on recipe cards. I also host the recipe card exchange over at Scrapbook-Elements. This month we are doing desserts. Here is my contribution (make one card get all the submitted cards see the forum post for details) This dessert is delicious. Easy to change flavours to suit what you have in the house, or to suit your meal. Yummy indeed!

I used  Rina's Sweet Taste of Summer Page Set     I also used this and other bits from the Sweet Taste of Summer Collection for my first June Page pictured above.

Week 48 - 2010

So this is the last few days of November. There is one more page full of goofy pictures of my birthday party - see me there in my dress-up clothes? I was a draughts (checkers) board and had a chess game in progress on my hat. My beautiful jewelery is all game pieces...ah yes, the last word in fashion for sure! And the rest of the friends looked equally grand. Won't be posting that page...all you'll have is a bunch of blurred out faces ;-0 No fun :D

For full credits please see HERE

Just adding finishing touches to the next pages...but now it is time for dinner first...and maybe I'll whip up a fruit (steamed) pudding for Christmas Eve dinner...hmmmmm.

I used this recipe...a winner every time!

Recipe Cards - I like them pretty!

I mean after all : If I'm going to be standing in the kitchen making food...I might as well look at a pretty recipe card at the same time...right?

On a practical note, I've always found it a wee bit tedious to always have to find the recipe in a book on a shelf. I have all these great recipes I'm always using, it would be so handy to have them at my finger tips in seconds. I also have recipe books in languages other than English, which means whenever I share a recipe or the boys (on the very odd occasion!) want to make something, I have to translate it first!
My first step to making my life easier was to start a collection on index cards in my little purple index card holder! Very practical, quick and useful! (and all in English!)
But not really very pretty...

Then digi entered my world....and colour burst into my recipe card collection! Someone asks for a recipe? Easy! ...it is only a couple clicks away! Whether I email it off, or have it printed : sharing has never been so easy!
I have my cards printed at a local store (they are all 4x6) and slip them into a photo album, sorted by categories. The album stands up for easy reading if necessary and the pages wipe clean from occasional spills!

Just a few of my favourites : (you can click on the images to go to the gallery for product links)

Pictures/previews for this page have been removed due to Designers retiring and stores closing

I host a Recipe Exchange over at Scrapbook-Elements, with a monthly 'main ingredient' theme. Taking part in this exchange has added some wonderful new recipes to my collection and to the family's "favourites" list!
I'm off to go make a cake...we have a family birthday coming up!
Catch you all later!
