Snail Mail - Tiddly Inks

Such a cute image that says it all!

The sentiment is by Art Impressions

I based the colours I used on the designer paper I chose for my card. I thought it goes well with her safari style hat. I used coloured pencils and just a little ink around the edges of the die cut piece.

And just a simple kraft envelope is all she needs to be on her way!

I'm entering it for the Tiddly Inks Tiddly-Tac-Toe Challenge which is a fun spin on a challenge.

I covered the Tiddly Inks square as well as the embossing, die cut, designer paper and distressing squares.  Come on over and play along with us!

Finally  here is another card I made with this image back in 2017

With Love Sprinkled on Top...

For once I made a card 'just because' with no particular person or purpose in mind. I should do it more often...it was rather fun

I used a digital image from Tiddly Inks 'Happy Bugg and Extras  I coloured the little 'bug' with coloured pencils and added glitter to her wings and the cup cake. A strip of patterned paper makes the wooden floor for her to stand on.

All in all it was super quick to finish and a great little project to colour when you have itchy-fingers-for-colouring and only a little time to spare.

I did a sort-of imitation of the font on the inside of the card. The sentiment is included with the digital set if you prefer to print it. And some fairy dust ended up scattered all over the inside of the card as well...

A fun and quick card, perfect for colouring on the go!

Valentine Kitty

Happy Valentine's for those of you who make this a special day...I thought I would pop this little kitty on hubby's desk this morning...
I'm pretty sure it'll give him a smile to start the day with.

I'm also entering it into the TiddlyInks Love Challenge #198 for February

(edited to add - this one 'won' the challenge...which means several more fun images in my 'collection' YAY!)

I mean who can resist a face like this?

I used an image from 'Set of Kittys' by TiddlyInks - aren't they just adorable?

I opted for a basic stand-up card for easy display on a desk. The colouring was done with colour pencils and the sentiment is from the Penny Black 'Every Which Way' transparent stamp set.

Come on over and join the February Challenge!
Have a nice day!

Snail Mail Greetings

A little while ago I won't a Tiddly Inks Challenge. You can see my entry here - "Got Chocolate?"
To say I was delighted is an understatement, so I high tailed it over to the Tiddly Inks Store with my gift certificate and snagged some goodies from my wish list.

One of them was the Snail Mail Wryn set. The set contains 5 different digital images all featuring snails. Really cute, and a good price too.

I coloured the image using coloured pencils, my favourite way to add colour to just about anything (closely followed by water colours) For the card base I used a woodgrain stamp (by Heidi Swapp) and Treebranch Archival Ink by Ranger and kraft card stock.

Next I made a cluster with designer paper, some tissue paper, crumpled and torn to give it some texture and a die cut lace strip. These I sewed together using black thread. I then added the cluster to the card and finished it all off with a banner, stamped with a sentiment (ProvoCraft) and stapled to the card. I found those purple staples a few years ago in my local department store. Sometimes one finds the nicest goodies in unexpected places!

And 'Wryn' is ready to be on her way taking love and best wishes with her.

Got Chocolate?

This cat-in-a-cup image stole my heart. I mean what is not to love about this adorable 'Cup of Kitty'? I found it over at Tiddly Inks

And heading out to share a cuppa with a friend I thought I would take a card along...

I settled on an easel card with a sentiment from a set by Inkadinkadoo 'Friendly Advice' I chose to paper piece the cup and coloured the kitty with coloured pencils.

Inkadinkadoo 'Friendly Advice' - I got mine at my local Michaels store.

The colours I used are autumn ones...partly because it is that lovely cozy time of the year now, here where I live, but also because I am entering this into the TiddlyInks Challenge #192 'Happy Fall Y'all'

I customized the card a little...adding a note about a cup of tea...and a few of chocolates to share!

Thank You Thank You !

I get so excited when I pull a parcel out of the mail box. Especially if it is a surprise from a friend! ( I mean getting something you ordered is very nice too, but you know what I mean, right?)

Just before Christmas I got such a fab surprise in my mail box and decided to send my friend a 'proper' thank you.

While I was making one...I figured I'd make an extra. Besides I had such a hard time deciding on just one set of colours!

I used the (free) 'Awwww Thanks!' digital stamp from Tiddly Inks. It is such a cute image, and just right for my friend, who loves flowers!

The idea of the split papers/back ground came from Therese over at 'Lost In Paper' I thought her Penny Black Cat just adorable.

For my cards I changed it up just a bit, but kept the basic idea. I also printed the strip of repeated 'thank you' words onto the card bases. The thank you banners and images were all printed at the same time. For the 'bluish' image I traced over the lines again with black pen. I decided to leave the other image in the printed 'grey' lines. In the end I like both versions equally. That does NOT help me to know what to do next time though...to trace or not to trace. Sigh...

The images were coloured with water colour pencils and I cut the hair to make 'clumps' which I can manipulate just a little to add dimension. The girls as well as the bottom embossed panels are popped up with foam tape. Adding the sentiment banner with a stapler also allowed me to curve it to add interest.

I'm entering these cards into the current "Thank You" challenge (#174) over at Tiddly Inks. Come on over, take a look and join in!

Welcome Little One

What a joyful time it is to welcome a new little bundle into the family!

I opted for an easel card as I like the dimension it provides while it is still nice and flat for mailing.
The image I used is from Tiddly Inks, called 'Ellie'

I am submitting this one to the 'Anything Goes' challenge over at Tiddly Inks

Choose a Different Colour!

If only that was all there is to it right? But often that works wonders and is mostly worth the try! (I'm referring to the sentiment on the inside of this card)

I used a digital stamp/image by Tiddly Inks (love that name!) called 'Annie's Art' for my card. (it is still free at the time of posting this...)

What I like about digi images is the ability to re-size at will, to suit a project. I think that is a big plus. I also like to colour with coloured pencils, so it works just fine with my ink jet printer. For this image though, I was going to do 'no line' colouring, but then did not like how it turned out, so I outlined with black anyway. Most of the colouring here was done using Inktense pencils.

And the inside of the card - with the sentiment I referred to at the beginning.

The sentiment is by Inkadinkado and is called  Friendly Advice. These make me smile...I got mine at my local Michaels store.

Here is another look at the Tiddly Inks image. The black pen was more juicy that I realized....oooops! But then again, it isn't nearly as obvious in real life, unless you take a magnifying glass to it!

I'm entering this card into Challenge #167 over at the Tiddly Inks Blog. The challenge is to feature 'kraft'. Easy for me, I love kraft card stock!
