Love these pictures. I only got hold of them last year and they capture, for me, the exuberance of youth so beautifully. Especially considering this was on the eve of, or early on into WW II.
Forever Young
I always appreciate any excuse to use lace and flowers, needless to say this LO was a lot of fun for me! The products I used were : by Snickerdoodles Designs : Irish Lace Overlays Set 4; Irish Lace Styles; Irish Lace Frames and the Rise and Shine Collection. The alpha is by Kimberley Stewart Springtime Feeling - the Tarnished Metal
Alpha Set and the stitches by Christine Nash.
Thanks for stopping by an have a great weekend!

Yearbook January 2014
Made a start on this year's book. Yay!
Lisa (Gypsy Couture) has a new kit out today 'Kiss It Goodbye',(no longer available) which is what I used for this page. I'm thinking I might have to split this one up and make it into 2 pages, due to all those pictures crammed on here. Will have to think about it... I used the template and photoframe set included in the kit. I duplicated the picture frames and spread them out a bit as needed.
Hoping to get more scrapping done this weekend!

More Vintage LO's and a Freebie
By now I'm sure you all know how much I like working with old pictures. I did a couple more LO's this week. This particular album is a slow work in progress, partly because more pictures are constantly added to the collection. Makes me happy!
This one features pictures that were taken in the 1920's. I'm amazed by the good condition they are still in. I took these pictures with my camera of the originals in the album. They are held in with photo corners, which definitely seems to have been a good idea!

I used all Snickerdoodle Design products for my LO : The Long Road Home Kit and The Long Road Home Glitter on a Border Buddie Set 3 border. The lace was made with Irish Lace Corners and Irish Lace Styles. Finally I used on of the Imprint Styles on the title for the embossed look.
Next up is Wintershoek, with my Grandpa in the front with the dog and Grandma on the veranda. I don't know who the boy is though - more information to go find!
I used a Gingerscrap Facebook Hop (DSD) Freebie for my page
and the Imprint Styles by Snikerdoodles for the title work on the
frame, yet again.
Lastly I have 'They Called Her Charlotte' - of a group of namesakes. I'm guessing this was taken in the 40's. Yes, you're right..more information needed.
Now you also know why I have no journalling on these pages as yet...
Loving working with these old pictures and Kimmi Stewart's
lovely 'Bunny Love Kit' I did the title work n the frame with the Snickerdoodles
'Imprint Style'
And FINALLY another freebie for you! I re-arranged some of the goodies on this last page and made an overlay freebie for you all.
Enjoy! Download your freebie HERE .
(Sorry...Blogger will not let me link the image at this time...sigh...)

A Change of plan...
It seemed like a good plan at the time...making this LO for a challenge, however I was not happy with it, so I made some changes, and like it much better now. Will I ever love it? Maybe not. And time will tell if it will make it into the printed book like this. I may yet scrap the whole thing and start over.
The first version :
...and once I tweaked it :
Do you ever redo or partially redo, a LO?

Catching up on Yearbooks
I was busy doing lots of other stuff. Among those, getting familiar with the Silhouette Cameo. I'm very pleased with the cutter. That is for sure.
I've started on Yearbook pages for this year, but will post when the kit/s go live, scheduled for later this week. Instead I'm sharing a LO I did today going back to 2008. (2009-2011 are completed and printed.) I had planned to work on february 2014, but casually looked at older LO's and pictures and when I saw these pictures they begged to be scrapped!

It was so nice to scrap again..the last while I'm 'lucky' if I manage one page a week :( That does not make me happy ;)
Hope you're getting more done than I am!

The kit I used is by Cathy Krenek "Seashine Kit"
I used a Style and Shape ste by Many Scraps - Pebblemaker for the month 'pebble' and I used an 'Imprint Style' by Snickerdoodles to 'carve' the font into the pebble. I'm pretty pleased with how that turned out!
